Expect a chef-driven, shared-plates menu, chopstick-first service, and a Pennsylvania-only wine list chosen to complement the food. Every dish reflects Carolyn's story: a Vietnamese kitchen filtered through a Louisiana upbringing and a love of French cafe tradition. Dinner runs WednesdayβSaturday; reservations recommended. Whether it's a quiet weeknight or a celebration, our team makes every visit feel intentional and soulful. Join us at 2015 Walnut Street for modern Vietnamese cooking that feels like home.

Definitely had low expectations given this was opening week, but the flavors and execution was completely exceptional. I had the beef salad, squash, blossoms, and chicken dumplings. The flavors were absolutely bursting in all three of these dishes. Lovely cute cozy environment.

Such a memorable dining experience! The menu is creative and full of interesting flavor combinations, with a great mix of Vietnamese-inspired dishes and modern twists. The Crispy Squash Blossoms and Imperial Pork & Tasso-Crab Spring Rolls were fantastic starters, and the Lemongrass Smoked Beef Short Rib was rich, tender, and beautifully prepared. The cocktail menu is just as impressive. The Mama Mai Tai and Lavender Love were unique, balanced, and paired really well with the food. Everything felt thoughtfully designed, from the presentation to the ingredients and flavors. Great atmosphere, delicious food, and a menu that makes you want to come back and try something new. Definitely worth a visit!

Tried Carolyn for the first time last night in a group of 4. At 7:00! the restaurant was full. But service was prompt and efficient. It is VERY Noisy in the restaurant and the tables are a bit small and upholstered chairs a bit uncomfortable. Feels crowded. The food was generally good, especially the appetizers (spring rolls and dumplings). Surprisingly, Asian flavors in most of the food (including the entrees) were not prominent and in some so subtle as to be unrecognizable The chicken and seafood/noodle boil entrees were the most enjoyed of those ordered. Donβt recommend the desserts, limited choices and what we ordered was tasteless. The restaurant does not offer coffee or cappuccino. This is a not inexpensive restaurant. For the price, especially if one wants Asian or Vietnamese flavored food, there are better choices.

I absolutely loved my experience here! The food was incredible, the staff was so welcoming, and Carolyn is such a talented chef. You can really tell how much care and creativity goes into every dish. We tried the banh canh, chicken liver mousse, betel leaf beef, dumplings, lotus salad, and the fish with rice. The betel leaf beef with the pineapple sauce was one of my favorites, but the fish with rice and short ribs completely stole the show for me. SO good. The dumplings were also delicious, and I loved that the lotus salad is a vegan option without feeling like an afterthought. It was fresh, flavorful, and seriously so good. Everything felt thoughtful, unique, and full of flavor. Iβm already looking forward to coming back and trying more of the menu. I would 100% recommend this place. I love the food, the staff, and the whole experience, and I really hope Carolynβs continues to grow and sticks around for a long time!
